Return to Stage 3 Restrictions

August 6, 2020

As of 6th August 2020, regional Victoria returns to stage 3 covid-19 restrictions. For funerals this means that attendance is once again limited to 10 mourners (not including funeral staff and the officiant). It was heartbreaking to go through this once; it will not be any easier this second time. Our hearts go out to the families who are put in the horrible position of having to pick and choose who gets to go to their loved one’s funeral; who will not be able to feel the support of their community in their time of grief.

We all know this is not the way funerals should be. But for now, and for the safety of us all, it is the way they unfortunately must be.

It’s hard to be right back where we started in March when the first restrictions came into place. Another 6 weeks of isolation and all it entails is going to weigh heavily on everyone. This is the time to come together, though. Thanks to the technology available to us, we can stay in contact and check in on each other. We’ve been through this before so we have an idea of what to expect and how best to fill in our time. We know we can get through this.

Stay strong, stay safe, and stay home if you can.
