Funerals, Camperdown and Terang
Covid-19 and Funerals
One of the measures Australia’s government has taken to slow the spread of covid-19 is to restrict the number of mourners at funerals to 20 if indoors, and 30 if outdoors (associated funeral and cemetery staff are not included in this tally) and to impose social distancing rules in all settings. These measures are necessary – but they are far from easy on families mourning the death of a loved one.
Macqueen’s is, as it always has been, dedicated to providing meaningful services during this time. We have embraced new ideas of what a funeral can be, as well as new technologies to allow those at home or overseas to be part of the service. We believe in the value of funerals and their importance to communities: although most people cannot be physically present during funeral services at the moment, it’s important that they have opportunities to view, to participate and to mourn in ways that are meaningful, healing and, above all, safe in the current situation.
If you have any questions or worries about current restrictions, we are only a phone call away.
For funeral services across Terang and Camperdown districts, and throughout the Corangamite Shire, you can rely on the team at Macqueen’s Funerals. Owners Anne Gleeson and Steve Lamb are renowned for a high level of care and support, provided round-the-clock.
With funeral homes located in both Camperdown and Terang, Macqueen’s Funerals aim to make funeral arrangements as easy as possible. We take pride in every aspect of our roles as funeral directors, from supporting families and friends when death occurs, guiding families through possible options, to fulfilling the wishes of the deceased person.
Our funeral directors and undertakers will help you navigate choices, including, where and how you want to say goodbye to the person you’ve loved, deciding on burial or cremation and the style and location of the funeral ceremony.
As a caring and community focussed funeral home for Camperdown and Terang and the surrounding districts, Macqueen’s Funerals is working to extend our services to meet your needs. We understand and respect the value and comfort of tradition, but we are also developing new ways to provide funeral care to those seeking different ways of farewelling those who have died. In diversifying our services, we seek ways to reduce stress and minimize costs. We are pleased to offer online funeral notices and tributes, making it easy to keep family and friends informed and to enable people to place their own on-line messages of support.
