  1. Norm was a valued friend. We met him with his wife and young son Wayne in Camperdown during the 1950’s. He was a strapping and muscular returned soldier who had served valiantly in Korea. Norm was seeking employment and our father was seeking a trustworthy and interested Sharefarmer. Their working relationship and business was sealed on a handshake basis. The Thornton family grew and was raised in Chocolyn in the house where we now live. Norm loved farming and farm life and was good at it. We enjoyed a lasting friendship over many years and he will be sadly missed. It was a privilege to know Norm and his family and we wish them peace and contentment as they go on without him. No doubt he is herding the cows wherever he is following his cardinal rule of ‘..’Walk behind them and don’t resort to a bike or other vehicle’! Safe herding Norm. Thanks for the memories.
