Saddened by Uncle Ian’s passing. My sincere condolences to all the immediate family Ruth, Lois Graeme and Andrew and all their extended families.
Cousin Matt -
It has been lovely to watch Ian’s funeral and hear the tributes, scriptures and memories. What a gentle but strong man with an enduring and deep faith in God and his Son Jesus.
I first met Ian and Mavis and their lovely family in 1974 when I was 19 and on the SU beach mission based at Pt Campbell baptist. I had their lovely Lois for several years in the group that I “taught” and I wrote to her many times over the years and visited their family, even staying with them for a weekends as a city girl experiencing farm life. I was in Lois’s wedding party and Ian was a very proud dad walking her down the aisle and I’m pretty sure that he was even prouder on the day I saw her baptised! So glad he got to meet Florence Mavis, who I assume would be his latest great-grandchild.
Sorry we couldn’t bet to his farewell service but so pleased you had the service available on line. Love to you all. Lynne C -
A few weeks have passed since you were laid to rest. And I miss you so much every day. I could never have imagined how life changing you not being here would be. I find comfort in friends and family but mostly in the faith you shared and knowing where you are now.
Thank you for being there for me always and for being my dad. We will meet again free from the worries of this earthly life. Love you always xx
