Deepest sympathy to the Searle family,
I was born in Camperdown and a number of my family members worked at the bakery, I grew up eating Charlie’s beautiful baked goods and I became a pastry cook myself because of Charlie.
I had the pleasure of working one shift at the Searle’s bakery in 1993 while on holidays in Camperdown, very fond memories of Charlie.

In this sorrowful time we would like to extend to Charlie’s family our heart felt condolences. May the found memories of having Charlie in your lives be always remembered. My memories are of riding on the handle bars of his bike down to the cake shop in Ballarat, to our last visit at his home where he had baked a ginger fluff cake.
